Ingredients:
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, browned and slightly cooled
- 1 cup (200g) brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 large egg yolk
- 2 tsp (10ml) vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
- 1/2 tsp (3g) sea salt
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch or 10-inch springform pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- Brown the butter in a skillet until it smells nutty and looks golden brown. In a large bowl, cream the browned butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until the mixture resembles wet sand.
- Beat in the whole egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth and glossy.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold gently with a spatula until just combined, then fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan, ensuring the edges are pushed firmly against the sides.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes until the edges are deep golden brown and the center still has a slight jiggle. Let cool completely in the pan before removing.
