Ingredients:
- 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/3 cup slivered almonds
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
Instructions:
- Snap off the stem ends of the green beans, rinse thoroughly under cold water, and pat completely dry with a kitchen towel.
- Melt 1 tablespoon of butter with the olive oil over medium heat. Add slivered almonds and stir constantly until mahogany-colored gold and fragrant. Remove almonds with a slotted spoon and set aside.
- Increase heat to medium-high. Add the remaining tablespoon of butter and the green beans. Sauté for 3–5 minutes, stirring frequently, until bright green and crisp-tender.
- Reduce heat to low. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for 30–60 seconds until fragrant.
- Remove pan from heat. Stir in lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Fold the toasted almonds back in and serve immediately.
