Ingredients:
- 1 lb Lean Ground Beef (90/10)
- 1 tsp Kosher salt
- 0.5 tsp Cracked black pepper
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Fresh ginger, grated
- 2 Green onions, whites and greens separated
- 1 Red bell pepper, finely diced
- 0.33 cup Low-sodium soy sauce
- 0.25 cup Rice vinegar
- 3 tbsp Honey
- 1.5 tbsp Sambal Oelek
- 1 tsp Toasted sesame oil
- 1 tsp Cornstarch
Instructions:
- Place your skillet over medium high heat. Add the 1 lb Lean Ground Beef, breaking it into large chunks with a wooden spoon. Do not move it for at least 3 minutes until a deep brown crust forms.
- Sprinkle the 1 tsp Kosher salt and 0.5 tsp Cracked black pepper over the meat. Continue to break the beef into smaller crumbles as it cooks.
- Add the 3 cloves minced garlic, 1 tbsp grated ginger, and the white parts of the 2 green onions. Sauté for about 1 minute until the air smells fragrant and spicy.
- Toss in the diced 1 red bell pepper. Stir fry for 2 minutes until the pepper is bright but still has a snap.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the 0.33 cup soy sauce, 0.25 cup rice vinegar, 3 tbsp honey, and 1.5 tbsp Sambal Oelek. Pour this directly into the pan.
- Scrape the bottom of the pan with your spoon to release all those browned beef bits. This is where the hidden flavor lives.
- Mix the 1 tsp cornstarch with a splash of water (about 1 tbsp) until smooth. Pour this into the bubbling sauce.
- Reduce heat to medium. Stir constantly for 1 to 2 minutes until the sauce turns translucent and clings to every piece of beef.
- Remove from heat. Drizzle the 1 tsp toasted sesame oil over the top and stir gently.
- Garnish with the green parts of the green onions. Serve immediately while the sauce is at its glossiest.
