Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Heavy Mayonnaise
  • 0.5 cup Full-Fat Buttermilk
  • 0.25 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 packet (1 oz) Hidden Valley Original Ranch Seasoning & Salad Dressing Mix
  • 0.5 tsp Dried Parsley
  • 0.25 tsp Dried Dill Weed
  • 0.25 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 0.25 tsp Onion Powder
  • 0.25 tsp Coarsely Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 pinch Salt

Instructions:

  1. In a medium glass bowl, combine the heavy mayonnaise and sour cream. Whisk vigorously until the mixture is glossy and free of any lumps to create the structural emulsion base.
  2. Add the dry ranch seasoning packet, dried parsley, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper directly into the thick mayonnaise mixture.
  3. Whisk the dry spices into the mayo base thoroughly before adding liquid; this allows the fat-soluble flavor compounds to 'bloom' and encapsulate.
  4. Slowly pour in the well-shaken buttermilk and the fresh lemon juice while whisking continuously until the desired consistency is reached.
  5. Taste and add a pinch of salt if necessary. Transfer to an airtight glass container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
